| The Ucluelet First Nation will provide safe and comfortable housing for members based on detailed and relevant community development plan. Community pride will be seen in the appearance of a variety of housing options. Our community buildings will host a wide variety of ceremonies, celebrations and sports events and become a gathering place for members of all ages. | | Here in Hitatsoo we are committed to providing safe affordable housing for our membership. Currently we are facing issues that many First Nation communities deal with every day, such as, overcrowding, mould, and arrears! | We have taken some large steps over the past few years to deal with our housing issues and improve our housing such as: | | • | Adopted UFN Housing policies | | • | Inspected our homes by a certified inspector to guide renovation projects | | • | Completed two rental homes. | | • | Completed our four- plex rental unit. | | • | First Phase of Ittatsoo Subdivision complete and 23 new units in various stages of ICF (Insulated Concrete Form) Construction. | | • | Made a deal with the Royal Bank for personal home loans. | Our Housing Administrator works closely with the housing committee to ensure that our policies are implemented and to assist in providing safe healthy homes!
